Cooling water flow meters are used to monitor cooling water flow. They are commonly used in cooling towers, circulation systems, pipes, tanks, and pumps. They are crucial for industries such as power plants and pumping stations.
Sino-Inst’s cooling water flow meters can be configured with a local digital display showing flow velocity, instantaneous flow, and accumulated flow. Flow signals can also be output via pulse, 4-20mA, RS485, HART, and other signals, enabling you to efficiently monitor and manage your cooling water system.
Features of Cooling Water
Cold water flows through production equipment that needs to be cooled to make it cool, and the temperature of cold water rises. Commonly used in heat exchange equipment: such as heat exchangers, condensers, reactors.
Cooling water accounts for about 70% of industrial water consumption. The cooling water system is divided into DC cooling water system and circulating cooling water system.
If the cold water is discharged after cooling down the production equipment, then the cold water is used only once, which is called a DC cooling water system. The warmed cold water is allowed to flow through the cooling equipment to reduce the temperature of the water, and pumped back to the production equipment for reuse, which is called a circulating cooling water system. The amount of cold water in the circulating cooling water system is greatly reduced, which can save more than 95%. Therefore, the circulating cooling water system plays a role in saving a large amount of industrial water.
Featured Cooling Water Flow Meters
Electromagnetic Flowmeters for Cooling Water

Electromagnetic flowmeters are the preferred choice for measuring cooling water flow. For large-diameter pipes, insertion-type electromagnetic flowmeters offer high accuracy and a reasonable cost.
Ultrasonic Flowmeters for Cooling Water

Ultrasonic flowmeters enable non-immersion measurement. Clamp-on ultrasonic flowmeters are a cost-effective option for pipes where openings are not possible, as well as for large-diameter pipes.
Turbine Flowmeters for Cooling Water

Turbine flowmeters offer a wider measuring range and can tolerate some impurities and viscosity in the medium. Turbine flowmeters are also less expensive.
Vortex Flowmeters for Cooling Water

Vortex flowmeters are also occasionally used to measure water flow. With no moving parts, they offer increased durability and can be inserted into large-diameter pipes.
Gear Flow Meter for Cooling Water
In conditions without a power source, oval gear flowmeters can be configured purely mechanically. GF gear flowmeters are more suitable for measuring very low flow rates.
DP Flowmeters for Cooling Water

Differential pressure flowmeters are often used in complex pipeline conditions, large diameters, high temperatures, and high pressures.
Applications of Cooling Water Flow Meter
Cooling water flow meters are most commonly used in cooling water towers. A cooling water tower is a device used to cool water. Water in the cooling water tower exchanges heat and mass with the flowing air to reduce the temperature of the water. Cooling towers are widely used in air conditioning circulating water systems and industrial circulating water systems.
Cooling water tower structure: The water to be cooled is sprayed down through the pipe at the top of the water tower. In addition, there is a hair dryer on the wall of the water tower to blow air in. There is a large exhaust fan at the top to draw air out of the top of the tower. This is conducive to air flow and accelerates the cooling of water.
Cooling tower: The upstream section cools and then pumps the water to Factory Automation equipment. The downstream section serves as the return to the cooling tower after flowing through the equipment. Naturally, the water temperature in the downstream section will be warmer than the water in the upstream section. Also, chillers, heaters or thermolators are frequently used in the upstream section.
