In the industrial sector, magnetic level gauges are commonly used for measuring the liquid levels in storage tanks, containers, and reaction vessels. Their high-precision measurement capabilities and intuitive display allow operators to quickly understand the liquid level situation, thereby optimizing the production process.
- Petrochemical Monitoring
In the petrochemical industry, magnetic level gauges are commonly used to monitor the liquid levels in oil tanks, storage tanks, and other equipment. Due to their explosion-proof and corrosion-resistant properties, they are particularly suitable for harsh chemical environments.
- Environmental Water Treatment
In the water treatment field, magnetic level gauges are commonly used to monitor the real-time water levels in clear water tanks, sewage tanks, and other similar facilities. Their accurate measurement and stable performance provide environmental protection departments with accurate water level data, contributing to the rational utilization and protection of water resources.
- Marine Liquid Level Monitoring
In the marine industry, magnetic level gauges are commonly used for real-time monitoring of the liquid levels in oil tanks, water tanks, and other similar equipment. Their vibration-resistant and shock-resistant characteristics ensure stable measurement performance even in marine environments.
- Energy Storage Monitoring
In the energy storage field, magnetic level gauges are commonly used to monitor the liquid levels in oil tanks, liquefied natural gas storage tanks, etc. Their reliable performance and wide range of applications provide strong guarantees for the safe storage and transportation of energy.
- Agricultural Irrigation Management
In agriculture, magnetic level gauges can be used for water level monitoring in farmland irrigation systems. Their simplicity and practicality allow farmers to easily understand irrigation water levels, thereby achieving scientific irrigation and water-saving agriculture.

Magnetic Level Gauge: Top-Mounted Precautions
For continuous level measurement in underground tanks, or for liquids with high viscosity, and for containers where side openings are unsuitable or side installation space is limited, top-mounted magnetic level gauges are generally preferred. They are widely used in oil depots, underground storage tanks, and other containers for level measurement.
Top-mounted magnetic level gauges typically consist of two parts: the upper part is installed on top of the container, and the lower part is installed inside the container, connected by a flange. The float in the lower guide tube is integrated with a magnetic float ball in the upper guide tube via a connecting rod.
When the liquid level changes, the float moves the magnetic float ball up and down within the guide tube, causing the flip plates in the display panel to rotate and indicate the liquid level.
The connection between the top-mounted magnetic level gauge and the tank body is generally made with a DN80 or DN100 flange; DN80 and DN100 are usually sufficient. If the rigidity is insufficient, a larger flange can be selected depending on the specific requirements.
When installing top-mounted magnetic level gauges at a height of 4 to 5 meters, it is recommended to add fixing cables on both sides to ensure the instrument is not damaged in harsh measurement environments, such as vibrating conditions, impacts, or strong winds.
When installing top-mounted and side-mounted magnetic level gauges, the following points must be noted:
- The protective tube and main tube of the level gauge must remain vertical and aligned on the same vertical line; otherwise, it will affect level measurement.
- During installation, the connecting rod must not be bent and should be inserted straight to ensure the magnetic float moves freely up and down within the main tube.
- No solid impurities or magnetic debris should enter the level gauge cylinder to prevent float jamming and reduced buoyancy.
- Magnetic conductors must not be placed near the cylinder, as this will directly affect the level gauge’s normal operation.
- After installation, calibrate the level gauge using a magnet to ensure the display shows white above zero and red below zero.
