SI-3109 is a large-diameter electromagnetic flow meter, an electronic flow meter suitable for large-diameter pipes, particularly for recycled water measurement.

Applications

Large-diameter electromagnetic flowmeters (typically those with diameters larger than DN200) are suitable for measuring large flows. Their primary advantages are low pressure loss and significant energy savings.

For high-flow applications such as water plant supply, municipal drainage, and circulating water measurement in large industrial enterprises, large-diameter flowmeters are the perfect choice.

Large-diameter flowmeters maintain excellent measurement performance even at low flow rates. However, special attention must be paid to installation conditions to ensure a consistent straight pipe length, typically 10D in front and 5D in the back (D represents the pipe diameter).

  1. In sewage treatment plants, large-diameter electromagnetic flowmeters are used to measure sewage flow.

Sewage contains a large amount of solid particles and corrosive substances, necessitating a wear- and corrosion-resistant flowmeter. Furthermore, sewage treatment plants operate over a wide flow range, from a few cubic meters per hour to thousands of cubic meters per hour, necessitating a flowmeter with a wide turndown ratio.

Furthermore, the pipe system pressure in sewage treatment plants is typically low, so the flowmeter’s corrosion and wear resistance must be considered.

  1. In the chemical industry, large-diameter electromagnetic flowmeters are used to measure the flow of corrosive liquids such as acids and alkalis.

These liquids operate over a wide temperature and pressure range, necessitating a flowmeter that can withstand high temperatures, high pressures, and severe corrosion.

For example, when measuring the flow of concentrated sulfuric acid, the flowmeter’s electrodes and lining should be made of materials resistant to sulfuric acid corrosion, such as Hastelloy and polytetrafluoroethylene.
